Campion marks the Season of Creation - Jesuits Australia

Campion marks the Season of Creation - Jesuits Australia

Pope Francis initiated the annual Season of Creation in 2016, following the 2015 publication of his encyclical Laudato Si’. Running from 1 September to 4 October, it is akin to the season of Lent and Advent in the Church’s Liturgical Year.
This September, the Being with God in Nature ministry at Melbourne’s Campion Centre of Ignatian Spirituality will mark the Season of Creation with a number of events, aimed at promoting ecological conversion in the Church and world.
First up will be a Laudato Si’ Seminar, facilitated by Being with God in Nature Ministry Coordinator Peter Saunders over four consecutive Thursdays, from 1.30—3.30pm, commencing 30 August (cost is $25 per session). This small group seminar will prayerfully reflect on the encyclical and how it can apply to our lives.
1 September (10am—3pm) will be a day of prayer to mark the Prayer Day for the Care of Creation, as instituted by Pope Francis in concert with Patriarch Bartholomew of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The cost is $90.00 (including lunch).
Listening to the Turning Earth (19 September1.30—3pm), facilitated by Tim Moloney cfc, is a 90-minute session providing each participant the opportunity to sit and contemplate the seasons of our Earth, using images and reflections from various writers.
Finally, a five-day walking retreat in the Grampians will take place from 23–29 September. The retreat will be based at Halls Gap, Vic, and will feature contemplative walks in silence into different parts of the Grampians.
The cost of $1500 includes transport to and from Campion to Halls Gap, single bedroom accommodation, all meals in the Grampians, five-day guided walks and spiritual direction on request.
To make a booking for any of these events or for further information please contact the Campion Centre of Ignatian Spirituality, ph. +61-3-9854-8110 or email: secretary@campion.asn.au.
